GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Lead all daily team member activities in support of production schedules, budget and quality expectations.  This is a hands on role requiring active participation in all electrical activities. This position may hire at a level below or above. 

DUTIES

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to all assigned team leads and electrical assemblers
  • Maintain and coordinate employee job related training initiatives and resources to include OJT, industry certifications, shop floor supplies/ tooling, and company required training.
  • Coach and provide technical expertise to resolve production issues alongside engineering team members
  • Supervisory responsibility includes management of employee performance, discipline, development, and recourse planning.
  • Facilitate team leader workflow management, workforce scheduling, and team member placement.
  • Maintain high standards of work performance and correct behavior as required.
  • Foster and maintain a positive level of morale in the department.
  • Utilize problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process controls and continuous process improvement tools to achieve company goals.
  • Ensure production methodology and processes (quality, safety, productivity...) are maintained and remain in compliance.
  • Conduct, lead, or implement process audits to minimize or eliminate process deviations and non-conforming product root causes.
  • Implement and sustain corrective actions as required.
  • Responsible for electrical floor adherence to company policies, safety standards, and departmental practices.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree preferred. Experience may be used to substitute.
  • 5-10 years of electro-mechanical manufacturing experience is required.
  • 5-8 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Prior military service in an equivalent function will be considered.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, Lean and 5S.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules when necessary to meet customer deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills are a must.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Must be computer proficient in Windows, Excel and MS Word.
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint and SharePoint is a plus.
  • J-STD-001 and/or IPC-620 Certification is a plus.

  • Works in a manufacturing environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
