GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • OCONUS Deputy Aviation Project Manager supporting the US Army Multi-National Aviation Special Project Office (MASPO) Mi-17-V5 overhaul and heavy repair facility.
  • This is a critical leadership position for Tyonek as we grow our training and operations support business supporting customers within the Department of Defense as well as other federal agencies.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for site management and the overall management and coordination of the contract in the absence of the Project Manager to ensure execution is in accordance with the cost/schedule performance requirements.
  • Build and maintain deep, productive relationships with PEO Aviation leaders and subordinate functional organizations.
  • Identify customer requirements and develop actionable solutions.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors to ensure maximum effectiveness of team communications  to support seamless operations.
  • Be knowledgeable of the customer organization and community, with the ability to provide direction and meet requirements of the contract efforts.
  • Leverage experience in interfacing directly with government leaders and supported organizations.
  • Supervise various task order activities, including subcontractor actions, in accordance with proven program management methodologies and within established procedures.
  • Identify and recommend objectives and scope of technical projects and communicate goals, scope, approach and schedules to assigned personnel.
  • Interface with customers on schedules, meetings, and issues.
  • Establish budgets and forecast manpower.
  • Operate with considerable flexibility of methods as required to meet program goals.
  • Apply originality and initiative along with the ability to work under unusual or extreme pressures.
  • Ensures personnel adhere to U.S. and host nation standards of conduct.
  • Knowledge of operations specific to contract.
  • Ability to communicate knowledgeably and effectively at senior management levels.
  • Knowledge of cultural, economic and geopolitical issues of host nation.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage a large and diverse workforce.
  • Skilled in operations, logistics, and resource management.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to changing requirements, unexpected contingencies and challenging situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Aircraft maintenance management experience required.
  • 10 years' total experience in DoD assigned organizations, as military, Government civilian, or contractor.
  • 5 years' management experience in DoD assigned organizations, as military, government civilian, or civilian contractor working in an OCONUS environment.
  • Site Management experience working on an OCONUS DoD Contract with Foreign Nationals preferred.

  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • Ability to work in an OCONUS location possible aster locations.
