GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Tyonek Services Group is providing full on-site / off-site maintenance flight/Functional Check Flight operations to support the US Army Flight Test Directorate AFTD at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The support will be conducted in accordance with current Army directives, including but not limited to, AR 95-1 and AR 95-20.
  • Areas for support to be provided include completion of all maintenance test flights on AFTD aircraft, fault isolation and troubleshooting, and management of internal contractor pilot and non-rated crewmember flight records.

DUTIES:

  • Have thorough knowledge of Army rotary wing and commercial aviation maintenance practices and regulations.
  • Determines and prepares documentation necessary for change.
  • Coordinates with customers and manufactures to determine a process for change reporting.
  • Reviews released engineering change data and changes documenting activities to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on experience and guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Must have strong computer and communication skills.
  • Typically reports to a manager.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years Army aviation maintenance experience.
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years Army aviation maintenance quality control experience and have attended the Basic Non Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC) or equivalent Technical Inspector Course from other services in the Armed Forces
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience related to Army aviation developmental testing requirements.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in working with Microsoft Office, Excel, MS Word and Power Point software.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
